Albert showed an early interest in art and painted as a hobby through his teenage years. He was accepted as an art major at the State University College at Buffalo. As an undergraduate with a degree in Liberal Arts, Albert joined the Peace Corps and served for two years in Korea. While there, he studied brush and ink.
Upon returning to the States, Albert completed a Master’s Degree at Columbia University and then began painting botanical subjects. His work has been exhibited at various venues in the metropolitan area and can be found in many private and public collections.
Albert prefers painting with the watercolor medium for its transparency, brilliancy, and serendipitous effects. Besides watercolor, Albert also dabbles in graphite drawing, photography, writes poetry and tends to his garden. Albert has been a member of the Brooklyn Watercolor society for many years.
Albert says, “The majesty of God can be found in the humblest of flowers.”
